Various Machines Are Lubricated With Industrial Greases To Reduce Wear And Tear From Sustained Use
Industrial Greases |
Industrial greases are lubricants
that are used to make two surfaces slippery and smooth by reducing friction.
Grease reduces the risk of wear and tear on machinery components and improves
machine reliability. It has excellent water resistance, which is useful for
preventing gravity leaks. Automobile production is the largest consumer of
greases. Greases are also commonly used in the construction industry,
particularly in the residential sector. Industrial greases are also effective
at contaminant blocking, noise reduction, and power consumption.
Growth in the construction and
manufacturing industries across the ASEAN region is driving up grease
consumption. Growing demand for Industrial
Greases from the
metalworking and metallurgical industries, as well as increased production of
heavy equipment for high-end applications, is expected.
These greases have exceptional
water resistance, high oxidation stability, and maximum structural stability,
as well as superior anti-rust and anti-corrosion properties. These greases are
resistant to water washout and are widely used for anti-friction and plain
bearing lubrication. This meets the British Timken ALG 1/57, IS: 7623-1993,
IPSS: 1-09-006 and US Steel 374 specifications. These greases are widely used
in steel plants, heavy engineering units, textile mills, petrochemical and
chemical plants, and other industries.
Lubricants are substances that are used to reduce friction and wear on surfaces that move relative to one another. Although this is the primary function of a lubricant, it can also act as a heat transfer agent, a corrosion inhibitor, a sealing agent, and a means of trapping and expelling contaminants in mechanical systems. While oils and greases are common liquid and semisolid lubricants, they can also be found in the following forms: dry lubricants, gas lubricants (such as air), and so on. Lubricants for mechanical systems must be specified with the goal of reducing friction and wear, as well as performing some or all of these secondary functions. Equipment manufacturers endeavor to find optimum formulations for their designs and equipment operators are advised to follow manufacturers’ recommendations for their selection and use.
