Anemometers Are Wind Measuring Devices, Which Are Mainly Used In Weather Stations to Measure the Direction and Velocity of Wind Flow
Anemometers are used in weather stations all across the globe, especially in regions such as the U.S., U.K., and Italy, among others. An anemometer or wind meter is a device used to measure wind direction and speed. It's also a very popular weather measuring instrument used in most weather stations. The technical term is derived from a Greek term, “anemos”, which means wind; and is thus used to describe any type of wind instrument used in meteorology. There are several different kinds of anemometers, depending on their construction and how they are used. The most basic model simply measures the air pressure, or force, exerted on a flexible cord when it's passed through a gauge. From there, the reading is calculated. Another example is an anemometer with a dial used to indicate wind height.
