What is Hemostasis & Tissue Sealing Agents? Why they are gaining popularity in the healthcare sector?

Hemostatic agent refers to the measure of a medical condition requiring ongoing monitoring and treatment, such as hemophilia B, a hematologic disorder requiring blood clotting factors to protect the body from bleeding. Hemostatic or angina is a medical condition that causes the veins and blood vessels of the body to constrict. This constriction is caused by a breakdown in the blood vessel's wall, and the constriction of the blood vessels in the extremities is called hemostatic hypotension. There are a lot of different hemostasis & tissue sealing agents available in the market that are used to treat hemostatic hypotension. Some of these medications have been approved by the FDA also.

Most people do not want to take medication unless it absolutely has to be, and they do not want to take a potentially dangerous drug. The same can be said for Hemostasis & Tissue Sealing Agents. Hemostatic medications carry risks such as serious side effects. A common side effect of a hemostatic agent is weakness. Weakness can occur in a person, even if the hemostatic medication was taken only minutes before the weakness was noticed. This weakness may not be a serious side effect; it all depends on the individual.

If a person who is suffering from hemostatic hypotension takes their medication and their weakness continues, it is important to seek emergency treatment. Emergency treatment can involve surgery to remove a blood clot that has already formed in a vessel. A blood clot is known as a thrombus. Surgery or other procedures to remove a blood clot will relieve the pressure on the affected vessel, but it will not stop the bleeding. If left untreated, the bleeding of a thrombus can cause internal bleeding or permanent tissue death.
