Peptides are recognized for being highly selective and efficacious and, at the same time, relatively safe and well tolerated. Peptides are of particular interest as therapeutic drugs because the body naturally produces many different peptides, they are relatively well-tolerated as therapeutics and have fewer side-effects. Peptides have emerged as a major new class of therapeutics with many pharmaceutical products.
